The Stoneybrook West Fantasy Football League was created at the start of the 2018 NFL season after seeing several people on the neighborhood social media page asking if anyone had created a league. The intention of this league is to bring neighbors together for friendly competition and to get to know our neighbors better.

($200 from entry fees will be used to purchase trophies, have them engraved, and to pay for the MFL fee)
Is this for real? - Yes, this is very much for real. This will be our 7th year of the SBW Fantasy Football League and it was created by a resident of SBW for the residents of SBW.
Is this an approved SBW Lifestyle event? - No, they will not allow me to post it on the digital signs at the gates and they get mad at me when I put up fliers for the league. I'm just a neighbor that started a Fantasy Football League for the neighborhood.
Why the $50 entry fee? - The first year of the league we did not charge an entry fee and there were several abandoned teams. The entry fee keeps people more inclined to manage their team.
How many teams can play? - The league has grown every year and we continue to see interest from neighbors in the offseason that were not aware of the league. Last year we had 32 teams broken into 4 divisions of 8 teams. If we have enough participants we will cap it at 32 teams and separate it into 4 divisions of 8 teams each.
Do I have to attend the Live Draft Party? - No, but you should, it's a very fun time. If you can not attend, you can draft remotely or simply set up your auto-draft wishes prior to the draft going live Saturday 9/2/2023 @ 8:00pm. But, you are highly encouraged to attend as it has turned into quite the party and it is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors/opponents.
Why myfantasyleague platform? - This is the only platform we have found that allows each Division to draft from the entire NFL roster. The first year we had 20 teams and everyone drafted from 1 NFL roster. This made it impossible to pickup other players because ALL the starters had been drafted. This allows a team from the AFC South to draft Patrick Mahomes and a team from the NFC North can also draft Patrick Mahomes. By using this system it leaves a pool of good players available for each Division to be able to add to your team as needed.
So, 2 exact teams could play each other? - Yes, this is an unlikely possibility but it has not happened yet. In the event that were to happen, the team that has the higher "average points for" will be awarded the win.
Is there an app for myfantasyleague? - Yes, there are actually two. They both seem to do the same thing but I have found the basic one, MFL Mobile, will do everything I need.
My Fantasy League is not as user friendly as other platforms - You're correct, it can take a little bit to get it sorted out. It does have a great help section that gives answers to any questions you may have and if the answer is not there, the administrators have gotten back to me quickly with an answer. I urge you to get familiar with it before the draft. It works absolutely fine, its just not as friendly as ESPN or Yahoo.
Will there be other ways to play? - Yes, once our Fantasy Football season ends there will be a Playoffs Fantasy Football League starting Wildcard Weekend. The way this works is, once the NFL playoffs start everyone will have access to all active players and can start them on their team (no draft). But... you can only start that player 2 times. This will be a separate entry fee of $50 and we will get that started one week prior to the NFL playoffs.
Sounds great! How do I join? - Fill out the contact at the bottom of this site and you will be emailed an invite. FYI, you will have to make an account at myfantasyleague.com (its free) to start building your franchise
How do I pay? - All payments are handled via PayPal or Venmo. You may also pay cash at the draft party if you like. Entry fee must be paid no later than 1 hour prior to when the draft goes live, Saturday 8/31/2023 @ 8:00pm
Wait a minute, aren't you guys that group of neighbors that get together even after the season is over and drink every weekend and ride electric skateboards and scooters around even though you're too old to be riding electric skateboards and scooters? - Yes, yes we are....
Why is football important anyways? - Towards the end of the 1970 NFL season, the Buffalo Bills barely lost a game because of a bad pass for a touchdown. That loss allowed the Bills to get the first pick in the draft. That first pick was O.J. Simpson. O.J. stays in Buffalo for a while, meets his wife, then years later "allegedly" kills her. He hires Robert Kardashian to be his lawyer, they win the case, and it makes the Kardashian name somewhat famous. Then years later Kim drops the sex tape and becomes famous. So basically the Buffalo Bills are the reason we have to deal with the Kardashians today, because.... if the Bills had won that game they would not have had the first pick, so O.J. never would have met Nicole and thus would never have had the chance to "allegedly" kill her, preventing the entire Kardashian family from ever being a sliver of a subject in modern culture. THAT is why ALL football games are important.
Not to mention..... In 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 City Championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, "Spare Tire" Dixon.
